To deliver a world-class energy destination, we have to be innovative, creative, dynamic and sustainable in our thinking. This starts at the planning stage. The Supplementary Guidance and the supporting Planning Advice document outline Energetica’s design principles. Our aim is to translate the vision into clear, concise planning guidance.
To do this we have produced two complementing planning documents that build on the aims and objectives of the Aberdeen City and Shire Structure Plan and the proposed Local Development Plans. The Supplementary Guidance details the policy that will provide the key differentiators between the Energetica corridor and other areas of Aberdeen City and Shire. The Energetica Planning Advice sits ‘behind’ the Supplementary Guidance and is best practice rather than policy.
The documents take a holistic approach to place making, providing recommendations on a wide range of subjects from local food production to housing density patterns. We will be encouraging all development to adopt these principles which we feel will ensure high quality placemaking and energy efficient buildings in attractive landscaped settings.
The public consultation on the Supplementary Guidance will formally start at the beginning of August 2011 for a period of eight weeks, however if you have any comments prior to this date please do not hesitate to email us at the following address. All comments will be held and considered as part of the formal public consultation process.
